DPW has went through the town and cleared all visible possible obstructions for water flow to the street drains. We have been getting updates from the Governors office and the Springfield Office of Emergency Management is preparing for all scenarios. All updates call for significant rainfall and high winds in our area.
Tonight’s Township meeting has been cancelled.
1. We are requesting that people stay indoors and off the roads.
2. If you live in a flood area, it may be best for you to take your automobile to a higher ground where the car will be safe. Police will not be ticketing cars for overnight parking.
3. Please curtail all home water usage as much as possible. I will give an update later as to the conditions of the sewer flow and capacity.
4. As of now, I would suggest that all recycling not be placed curbside tonight. We are trying to get tomorrow rescheduled but not sure if that will be possible. Again….this is only my suggestion. As of now, recycling is still scheduled for tomorrow. If I get a definite answer, I will post it asap.
5. Charge all cell phones and keep flashlights available. Chisholm Recreation Center, if needed, will be opened as a shelter.
Police, Fire, First Aid, OEM are all fully staffed and on standby.
All the best and please be safe.
