This week, the Springfield Recreation Department’s senior citizen bus service expands to Monday-Friday from 9:00 am-3:00 pm. Rides for Township residents (55 years of age and older) can now be requested on Tuesdays and Thursdays — in addition to Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. And the daily service has been extended to 3:00 pm from 2:00 pm. To schedule a ride within the Township, please call the Springfield Recreation Department at (973) 912-2227 in advance up to a day before your ride. If you call the day of your ride from 8:00-9:00 am, a ride cannot be guaranteed. Popular destinations include grocery stores, pharmacies, doctor, Library, Chisholm Community Center, Post Office, etc. The bus is unavailable on municipal holidays, bus trip days, or due to weather, maintenance, or staffing emergencies.
