The Springfield Recreation Department welcomed residents to the fall by screening “Lightyear” outdoors at Chisholm Park on Saturday night, September 24, 2022. Blue skies and cooler temperatures drew a crowd of several hundred children and adults with lawn chairs, blankets, and sweatshirts.
Many residents enjoyed their own picnic dinners and boxes of pizza under the stars. After a DJ dance party by Summit Soundz, the new Disney-Pixar computer-animated film was presented on a jumbo screen at dusk.
Mayor Alex Keiser was on hand popping fresh hot popcorn throughout the event. The Springfield Auxiliary Police and the Springfield First Aid Squad provided on-site emergency support for the event. Follow the Springfield Recreation Department on Facebook @springfieldnjrec
