Residents
The first month of the new year is almost over, here are some important reminders regarding recycling and garbage pick up as we make our way into February.
- Christmas trees will be collected through the month of January. Only live trees are being collected. The trees must be stripped of all decorations and please do not place them in plastic bags.
- Leaf collection is over, any leaves placed on the curb will not be picked up. If needed Township residents may drop off leaves at the Springfield Pool (44 Morrison Road). In biodegradable bags please.
- 2023 has brought a new contract with Giordano Inc. for recycling services. The new recycling schedule can be found on our website, DPW page, and a copy has been mailed to residents. If you are unsure of what can and can’t be recycled check out the DPW page and look under the recycling sections.
- Garbage schedules remain the same. But residents are asked to please not place plastic garbage bags out onto the curb. The garbage bags must be in cans. This is to stop animals from getting into the bags and ripping the bags. Also to keep the streets clean.
- The DPW Service Brochure will be in the next issue (February) of The Patriot. Mayor Capodice recommends that residents hold on to that brochure and read it. “It’s got probably all the answers to the most asked questions we get during the year. When is bulk pickup, leaves, recycling, and things of that nature. So please make sure that you peruse that.”
