Just some quick reminders for all residents regarding recycling:
This Saturday, October 8th is the final shredding event. It will run from 9am to 1pm and will be held at the Springfield Pool (44 Morrison Road).
Leaf Collection will start on Monday, October 31st. Residents can begin placing leaves out on the curb on October 24th, either loose or in biodegradable bags. Please avoid placing leaves within 10 feet of any storm drain to minimize flooding.
Please remember that plastic bags are not permitted in recycling cans. Any cans with plastic bags in it will be skipped over and will not be collected until the plastic has been removed.
Starting back in July the township’s Instagram and Facebook account began sharing images from #RecycleRightNJ. This is a social media campaign developed by the Department of Environmental Protection to help municipalities educate their residents about recycling contamination. Recycling contamination is anything in a recycling bin that does not belong there, it’s an issue that has heavily affected recycling programs. It’s important that residents abide by these guidelines.
