New Jersey American Water will begin the Short Hills Pump Station Improvements project on or about May 26, 2020 at the Short Hills Pump Station, located on Morrison Road, behind the community pool. Over the next 4-6 weeks, New Jersey American Water’s qualified contractors, Layne Construction and CRJ Contracting will begin the installation of the treatment system that was presented to the township officials and residents at the February 24th workshop meeting. This project represents a critical investment for the company in support of our commitment to provide customers with safe, reliable water service.
Weather permitting, work hours as permitted will be 7 am to 4 pm, Monday through Friday, weather permitting. The company’s contractors will be installing new water mains on New Jersey American Water’s property and utilizing a crane to maneuver the treatment units into place. The majority of this work is expected to be completed during a two week window. The contractors will utilize the Morrison Road entrance of the facility to minimize disruption to residents along Donna Road. New Jersey American Water anticipates the majority of the construction to be done in June and follow up work such as pavement restoration and grass restoration may occur in early July.
The company asks customers to recognize the essential work being done by its contractors, and remind them to adhere to social distancing rules for everyone’s safety. If customers have questions regarding this project, they are encouraged to reach out to New Jersey American Water’s Project Manager, Bryan Slota at 908-399-4454 or via email at Bryan.Slota@amwater.com.
