Since the arrival of COVID-19 in early March 2020, there have been a total of 1,378 confirmed (PCR test) and 406 probable (antigen test) COVID-19 cases reported in Springfield Township. The chart above shows the trend in newly reported cases throughout the pandemic. While the number of newly reported cases remain relatively steady throughout the fall, there has been a notable increase statewide after the Thanksgiving holiday. Since August 2021, the Delta variant has been identified in 99% of samples submitted for genetic sequencing. In early December 2021, the Omnicrom variant was identified in New Jersey and is being closely monitored by NJDOH. As family and friends gather throughout the December holiday season, we anticipate a further increase in Covid-19 cases, especially among unvaccinated individuals.
The table above shows a summary of descriptive statistics for confirmed COVID-19 cases reported in the past seven days, all confirmed COVID-19 cases, and all confirmed COVID-19-related deaths.
