Demolition, site preparation, and installation at the Irwin Park playground on Adams Terrace began in mid-May 2022. When the project, which began a year ago with the expansion of the playground’s footprint is complete this spring, residents will gain two brand-new climbing structures in fresh, bright colors with interactive playground elements. The existing swing set will remain. Added features include: rope wall, rain and jet panels, luge and viper slides, shaded roofs, arch bridge, odyssey climbing posts, and more. The project is funded by the Township of Springfield with a matching grant by the Union County Kids Recreation Trust Fund, and is built by Ben Shaffer Recreation and Corby Associates, with BCI Burke Playground Equipment.
