During last week’s (Jan.11) Township Committee meeting, the Springfield First Aid Squad was presented with a donation from Springfield Hillside Elks Lodge #2004. The donation was presented by Geri Ann Kazimar, Lois Pagano, and David Penna.
“It is my honor to present a check to the Springfield First Aid Squad on behalf of the Elks National Foundation, which is the heartbeat of the Elks. – With donations raised from Elks members, the Elks National Foundation has given back over $300 million to Elk’s charitable programs. – We recognize the organizations that during these trying times have put themselves out there to help the community.”
-Lois Pagano
The Elks National Foundations was formed in 1928 to help its members give back to the community. The $1,000 grant they presented on Tuesday was accepted by Chief Apu Mullick of the First Aid Squad. The foundation has also recently made donations to the Springfield Police Department and local food banks.
