The Springfield Recreation Department’s Halloween Spooktacular was held inside the Chisholm Community Center’s Lee Adler Memorial Gymnasium on Saturday, October 30, 2021. Hundreds of community members of all ages gathered to show off their scariest and most original costumes at the annual costume contest. Winners received gift cards to Barnes & Noble, sponsored by Mike Scalera State Farm Insurance; Cardinal Land Properties; and Keller Williams Mid-Town Direct Realty. Following the contest, children enjoyed a live interactive concert with the Monster Mash Trio. Throughout the event, children played Halloween lawn games, and a photo ring photographed families and texted a free photo gallery to their cell phones. Give-aways were distributed by Keller Williams Mid-Town Direct Realty and Red Ribbon Week. Guests also enjoyed a basket of warm donuts from the Glazed & Confused food truck parked outside.
