Reminder of Deadlines for Submitting a Request for Public Assistance (RPA)

Incident Period: September 1, 2021 through September 3, 2021
As a reminder, the deadlines for submitting a Request for Public Assistance (RPA) for DR4614 are quickly approaching. The President approved Major Federal Disaster Declaration DR4614 for the State of New Jersey on September 5, 2021. The disaster declaration makes federal funding available to state and local governments and certain private nonprofit organizations on a cost-sharing basis for emergency work, and the repair or replacement of facilities damaged by the remnants of Hurricane Ida in Bergen, Cape May, Essex, Gloucester, Hudson, Hunterdon, Mercer, Middlesex, Morris, Passaic, Somerset, Union, and Warren counties. If your organization has not yet submitted an RPA, please do so as soon as possible.

- Cape May County – November 6, 2021
- Essex County – November 9, 2021
- Gloucester County – November 4, 2021
- Hudson County – November 9, 2021
- Hunterdon County – November 4, 2021
- Mercer County – November 9, 2021
- Middlesex County – November 4, 2021
- Morris County – November 10, 2021
- Passaic County – November 4, 2021
- Somerset County – November 4, 2021
- Union County – November 9, 2021
- Warren County – November 12, 2021
To apply for Federal (FEMA) Public Assistance Grant funding:
Registering for a Request for Public Assistance (RPA) is the first step in the application and reimbursement process. Applicants must use the FEMA Grants Portal to register, please navigate to https://grantee.fema.gov to create your RPA.
Organizations New to Grants Portal:
Click on “Register Your Organization for Public Assistance” and complete the required information. PLEASE NOTE: you will need to select NO to the question “Do you want to submit a Request for Public Assistance”. You will receive an email once your organization is approved, and then you will be able to submit your RPA. If you answer “Yes”, you will only have the option to create an RPA for DR4488 (COVID-19), which is not transferable. If you submitted an RPA for DR4488 in error, please email publicassistance@njsp.
