Caldwell Place ProjectCaldwell Place from Mountain Ave to Rose Ave will be closed during this project.The Caldwell Place culvert replacement is a county-led road project that is scheduled to begin with preliminary work on Thursday and Friday of next week. During this time, test pits will be dug to assess the scope of the project. These initial activities will require a temporary road closure for both days.Following the assessment from the test pits, the New Jersey Water will begin work on both the 12-inch and 8-inch water lines.PSE&G will follow NJ American water and relocate their gas lines.
Due to the size and complexity of the trench required and the water and gas lines being moved, the road will be closed for two to four weeks in this initial stage of work. At this time, no firm dates have been established for the subsequent phases of the project which will entail closing this section of Caldwell again, and the County will follow with a complete replacement of the culvert starting in the fall. It is estimated that this will require three to four months to complete. As we receive additional information and dates we will update everyone
