    CHILDREN & TEENS

Our kids are talented, hard-working and full of good ideas. We encourage and empower them to bring their goals to fruition with our many programs and coordinated recreation spaces and events. Take a look at all we have to offer and let us know if you have any questions or suggestions for our staff. If you haven’t been to the remodeled community pool yet., this is the perfect time to go!

It’s our pleasure to serve the community and we take playing here very seriously. Come join the fun!

    Adam Lieb, Director

The Recreation Department sponsors activities for senior citizen residents of Springfield, such as a free fitness room and weekly fitness classes, indoor pickleball, bus trips, health clinics, speakers, musical entertainment, movies, trivia, crafts, and more! A monthly calendar can be downloaded in the Program Flyers section and is also available at the Chisholm Community Center. The Springfield Senior Citizens Club is an affiliated organization that meets regularly at the Chisholm Community Center. A variety of programs are offered, such as cards, dominos, rummikub, mahjong, bingo, monthly meetings, luncheons, holiday party, and more. To join the club, download a membership form in the Program Flyers section or pick one up at the Chisholm Community Center.

The Recreation Department offers free weekday bus transportation for resident senior citizens ages 55+ to locations within the Township, such as grocery stores, salons, doctor offices, fitness clubs, banks, club meetings, library, post office, and more. To make a reservation in advance, residents can call (973) 912-2227. Requests made the day of between 8:00-9:00 am cannot be guaranteed. The bus service runs from 9:00 am-3:30 pm, Monday-Friday. Bus service is unavailable on municipal holidays, and due to inadvertent weather or staffing conditions, or pre-scheduled bus trips. The bus is equipped with a passenger lift for wheelchairs. Other riders should be able to board and depart the bus independently, or with the assistance of an aide. New riders are asked to complete an emergency contact form. The bus was generously donated by Investors Bank Foundation.
