- Supervising the Chisholm Community Center during afternoons, evenings, and weekend activities;
- Assisting in the Springfield Recreation Department office, youth wing, and senior citizens wing, as needed;
- Working at Springfield Recreation Department special events;
- Other related duties, as assigned
Attendance at an accredited college or university is required, and a degree in recreation or a closely-related field is encouraged, but not required. Previous recreation/athletic, youth supervision, teaching/tutoring/coaching, building supervision/facility management, special events, or other relevant experience is required. RECREATION PROGRAM COORDINATOR (YOUTH/ADULT)
The Springfield Recreation Department is seeking a year-round part-time Recreation Program Coordinator to join our team. The Youth/Adult portfolio will be responsible for planning, promoting, and overseeing a diversified roster of sports clinics and leagues, non-sports extracurricular programs, school break and summer camps, bus trips, and other activities. The Youth/Adult portfolio also includes coach recruitment, supply ordering and inventory, and program staff supervision. In addition, the position involves assisting with special events, community center operations, pool and/or summer camp programming, program registration processing, resident services, and office duties. The part-time schedule ideally involves morning and afterschool hours, as well as occasional evenings and weekends. College students or graduates with recreation-related degrees preferred, as well as experience working with and planning activities for youth/adult populations.
