Updates from the Township Committee Meeting held on January 13, 2026. 

DPW
  

  • Recycling 
    • Plastics bags are not permitted in recycling cans. Cans with plastic bags will not be picked up. The reason being; the recycling gets put on a belt and goes through a machine but the plastic bags get caught in the machine and then have to be manually removed by someone. 
    • Please put recycling out in a can with a lid to prevent it from blowing away. 
  • Christmas Tree Collection
    • Christmas tree collection will continue through the 31st of January.
    • No need to schedule a pickup as crews canvas the town on a daily basis.
  • Leaf Collection
    • Leaf Collection was extended to January 31 due to the two snow storms on 12/14 and 12/27.
    • Leaves placed in the curb after the 31st of January will not be collected.  
    • Piles with brush or any other unacceptable material are passed over leaving a letter at the address to remove the debris and the piles will be collected on the next round
    • Piles should be a minimum of twenty feet from any storm drain. 
  • Township Parks: Other DPW crews will be removing decorations, cleaning parks, storm basins and our waterways in-between weather events over the winter months.

    • There was an incident; a gas meter leak. Fire Dept arrived and JCP&L came in and shut it down. It was taken care of, no danger to the public. 
    • Before the building opens everything will be re inspected.
