Updates from the Township Committee Meeting held on October 14th.

DPW

Recycling Update
- The new 2025 Recycling Schedule is up on the website now.
- Plastics bags are not permitted in recycling cans. Cans with plastic bags will not be picked up. The reason being; the recycling gets put on a belt and goes through a machine but the plastic bags get caught in the machine and then have to be manually removed by someone.
- Please put recycling out in a can with a lid to prevent it from blowing away.
Leaf Season
- Residents can start placing leaves in the curb line on October 23rd.
- Only leaves with a small percentage of grass will be collected. Piles containing brush or any other material will be passed over.
- Piles should be a minimum of twenty feet from any storm drain.
- Collection starts on Monday November 3rd through December 31. As always DPW has no particular schedule other than several crews
  
  canvassing the township on a daily basis
Paving Projects
- Road improvements to Midvale & Northview Terrace will begin on or about October 17th. Initial work will consist of new catch basins frames and covers including storm sewer drainage improvements. Minor curb repairs along with ADA ramp repairs followed by milling and paving.
- Residents will be receiving notification on scheduling along with the contractor’s information.
- This project was largely funded by the Union County Community Development Block Grant.
- DOT Grant was awarded to Diamond and Lawrence. That should be done before the end of the year.

Other Updates

All traffic boxes that were green have been scraped and have been repainted with a satin black finish.
