• Recycling Update
  • The new 2025 Recycling Schedule is up on the website now. 
  • Plastics bags are not permitted in recycling cans. Cans with plastic bags will not be picked up. The reason being; the recycling gets put on a belt and goes through a machine but the plastic bags get caught in the machine and then have to be manually removed by someone. 
  • Please put recycling out in a can with a lid to prevent it from blowing away. 
• Vegetated Waste will be collected curbside through April. 
  • After April 30th residents can utilize the drop off at the recycling center located at 44 Morrison. 
  • Must be contained in a can or biodegradable bags. 
  • DPW crews will canvass the town daily but will not follow a set schedule. 
• A book drop bin has been added at the recycling center. There is a separate bin for books only. Any hardcover book will either be recirculated or properly recycled. 
• Other crews have been working on spring cleanup of the parks and other township properties. 

• County Road–Meisel Ave: 
  • will be done curb to curb, from Linden to Morris 
  • milling will be done on April 11th
  • paving is scheduled for April 16th 
  • all work is scheduled between 7pm to 5am 
  • Rockborn Construction will provide all notifications and detours 
• Township Roads 
  • Brook St, Rose Ave, & Keller St; under Moratorium will be paved in full 
  • Salter St will be paved from the intersection of Brook & Salter to Keller 
  • Caldwell Place paved full, by swapping footage with other streets
  • All milling is scheduled for April 14, 15, and 16 
  • Paving is scheduled is scheduled for April 17th 
  • This work will be preformed on regular business hours and all residential notification will be provided by Rockborn Construction 
• Paving was scheduled during Spring Break
• Note: Swapping footage ensure we don’t get stuck with a half paved road. 

Johanna Way Pumping Station 

The western house parts are no longer available as we know. The manufacturing of the pumps and motors are on schedule due to arrive in June. All the electrical components, panels and transfer switches have all been delivered. JCP&L is scheduled to upgrade the transformers outside the station to meet the demands of the new system. Construction activity is scheduled to begin late May, early June with a tentative completion date in October which is well before planned. The entire project is covered by the American Recovery Act. 

Gomes

• Last week a gas line was hit, it was fixed by PSE&G. 
• They are working on the sidewalks now, in front of Morris Ave. DOT is insisting on 5ft of cement, can’t have pavers all the way to the curb. 
• The footings have been put in for the lighting along Center and Morris.
