Good Evening Springfield,
I have been in touch with every department head regarding tomorrow’s storm, we are ready. Here are a few things everyone should be aware of:
-The State of New Jersey has made an emergency declaration in preparation for the major winter storm that has been forecast.
-The Department of Public Works, Police and Fire are staffed and ready to go.
-As they work to plow and clear the roadways and protect the public during the storm:
-Stay home; don’t drive. Only essential travel is permitted.
-Street parking is not allowed. Move all cars off the roadways before the
storm begins.
-Clear fire hydrants of snow as possible
-When shoveling, always keep the snow behind the curb-line.
-Treat icy areas as needed I know salt is at a premium.
-Localized power outages are possible; do not run any fuel-powered generators in enclosed spaces and always follow appropriate guidelines for their use.
-Our crews will be out plowing an salting when appropriate.
-Police, fire, and will continue to be available for any emergencies.
-STAY OFF THE ROADS!!! Be safe, be warm, and be patient.
Any questions please do not hesitate to reach out.
Stay warm,
Mayor Harris Laufer
